Downrange does not collect, transmit, or store your data on any server. Every photo, shot group, load profile, and setting stays on your device, in your device's own storage. There is no account, no analytics, no ad tracking, and no server this app talks to for its own purposes.
The one exception is the subscription itself: purchases are processed by Google Play and verified through RevenueCat, described in full below.
Downrange is an offline target-analysis tool for shooting-sports practice. You photograph or manually mark a shot group, and the app computes group statistics — spread, dispersion, point-of-impact offset, and related metrics — entirely on the device. It is built as a personal record-keeping and analysis tool, not a networked service.
Nothing, on our end. Downrange has no backend server, and nothing you enter or photograph is transmitted anywhere by the app itself. Specifically, the app never sends:
All app data lives in local storage on your device, using standard Android/WebView storage mechanisms:
| Data | Stored via | Leaves the device? |
|---|---|---|
| Target photos | Local database (IndexedDB), downscaled on save | Never |
| Groups, profiles, settings | Local device storage | Never |
| Session export files (JSON/CSV) | A file you explicitly save or share | Only if you choose to share it |
Uninstalling the app removes this data along with it, the same as any other locally-stored app data. Exporting a session file is the only way data leaves the app, and it only happens when you choose to export or share one.
Downrange requests camera or photo-library access only at the moment you choose to add a target photo, not on launch. Photos you capture or select are used solely to mark shots and derive group statistics; they are stored locally as described above and are never uploaded. Declining access simply falls back to the app's manual grid-entry mode.
Downrange offers an optional paid tier through Google Play's subscription system. Purchases are handled by Google Play Billing and verified using RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure provider. To validate your entitlement, RevenueCat receives:
Neither Google nor RevenueCat receives any of the target, group, or profile data described above — that data never leaves the device regardless of subscription status. For details on how each service handles the data it does process, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
Downrange is not directed at children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect information from anyone — a design that applies uniformly regardless of the user's age.
If this policy changes, the update will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
